The fetus becomes chubby & plump

The fetus can hear and recognise sounds.

 

BRAIN:

Sulci (grooves) on the surface become more detectable

The Fetus is the size of a pineapple

 

FUNCTIONS:

Senses are developed

Hair grows

The immune system begins to develop.

 

BRAIN:

All primary sulci (grooves) are present

Cortical folding is complete, giving it a wrinkled appearance

SIZE:

The fetus is the size of a romaine lettuce

 

FUNCTIONS:

All organs are mature

The immune system begins to develop

Fetus moves to the head-down position.

 

BRAIN:

Secondary sulci (grooves) are present.
